
The pregnant woman who hailed from Srikakulam went into labour while travelling, the train was about to reach Anakapalli station. Seeing this, the medical student travelling in the same coach helped the woman. The medical student immediately helped the pregnant woman deliver the baby.

The family members were happy that the mother and baby were safe and everyone congratulated the student who saved them during this journey. The rest of the co-passengers and family members intimated the authorities concerned at once as the train pulled over at Anakapalli station. The baby and the mother are in good health post-delivery.
The newborn girl will be able to avail free train travel for the rest of her life.

- The pregnant woman based from Srikakulam district aged around 30 years went into labour while she was travelling in the train. The family members of the woman who were worried started to seek help from other women passengers in the compartment.
- A Medical student boarded the train at Vijayawada at around 1.30 AM on Tuesday and at around 4.30 AM, the family members of the woman asked her for help. At that time, the train was between Rajahmundry and Samarlakota.
- Student said that she noticed prolonged labour and could see the baby's head descending. With the help of other women, the baby was delivered. she told that she was carrying some antiseptic and don't even have any instruments to cut the umbilical cord.
- The railway travel ticket examiner and other passengers called up the medical authorities. The train was halted at Anakapalli railway station, where 108 vehicle was arranged even before the arrival of the train. Actually, the train had no stoppage between Vijayawada to Visakhapatnam. The woman and the newborn baby were shifted to NTR Hospital, Anakapalli. Medical student also accompanied them to the hospital and has completed the surgery and provided the required treatment to the baby.
Medical student act was praised by the family and passengers of the train, and the medico was also appreciated by officials of the GITAM Institute. The story was also widely shared on social media, and several people, including Telangana IT & Industries Minister KT Rama Rao, appreciated her. The newborn girl will be able to avail free train travel for the rest of her life, railway officials said.
